Job Title: SAP Delivery Head

Job Summary:

The SAP Delivery Head is responsible for overseeing the delivery and execution of customer-facing SAP projects within the organization. This role involves managing a portfolio of client projects, ensuring they align with both customer requirements and organizational goals, and overseeing the project managers. The SAP Delivery Head is accountable for the portfolio’s P&L, managing resources, timelines, scope, risks, and escalations while ensuring projects meet defined budgets and deliverables. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership in managing SAP projects, mentoring teams, and implementing governance and controls to deliver quality results. The SAP Delivery Head must also have strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, experience running Agile projects, and expertise in SAP Activate.

Key Responsibilities:
    Project & Portfolio Management:
  • Manage a portfolio of customer-facing SAP projects, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget to meet client expectations.
  • Oversee and mentor project managers in executing customer-facing projects with a focus on quality and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain project tracking tools (Jira, MS Project, SAP Cloud ALM) to monitor project progress, risks, and performance.
  • Ensure projects are executed following agreed-upon processes, timelines, and budgets, with a focus on client deliverables.
  • Monitor the performance of projects within the portfolio, ensuring alignment with both customer goals and organizational objectives.
Methodology & Governance:
  • Establish and maintain standardized project management methodologies, tools, and processes specifically for customer-facing projects.
  • Implement governance frameworks to ensure adherence to best practices, policies, and procedures in client interactions.
  • Enforce compliance with project management standards and methodologies across all customer-facing projects.
    Agile Management & SAP Activate:
  • Lead Agile SAP projects, ensuring adherence to Agile principles and Scrum methodologies.
  • Apply SAP Activate methodology to ensure best practices in SAP project implementations.
  • Ensure Agile project teams are effectively managing sprints, backlogs, and ensuring successful delivery of features.
    Financial & Resource Management:
  • Manage the financial aspects of the portfolio, including P&L, cash flow, and budget adherence for customer-facing projects.
  • Allocate resources efficiently across projects, ensuring optimal utilization of talent and skills to meet customer demands.
  • Help with resource management and capacity planning to ensure successful delivery of customer projects.
    Risk & Issue Management:
  • Identify and mitigate risks at the portfolio level for customer-facing projects, ensuring potential issues are addressed promptly.
  • Manage project escalations, ensuring that issues are resolved quickly to minimize impact on the customer.
    Strategic Alignment & Reporting:
  • Ensure customer-facing projects align with both the organization’s strategic goals and the client’s business objectives.
  • Evaluate and prioritize projects that add value to the customer and the organization.
  • Produce consolidated reporting on portfolio progress, including key performance metrics and project statuses, for senior leadership and the executive team.
    Mentorship & Support:
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to project managers and teams, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Act as a mentor to project managers, helping to develop their skills and capabilities in managing customer-facing projects.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar portfolio management or delivery management role, specifically in managing customer-facing projects.
  • Proven experience as a project manager, delivering end-to-end SAP projects for clients.
  • Strong SAP functional experience is a strong plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP Cloud ALM, as well as proficiency in using Jira and Microsoft Project.
  • PMP certification is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies and hands-on experience running Agile projects.
  • Experience with SAP Activate methodology in SAP project implementations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders, particularly clients.
  • Proven experience in managing P&L, budgets, timelines, and resources for multiple customer-facing projects.
  • Ability to produce consolidated reporting and manage cross-functional communications related to client projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in managing risks and escalations in customer-facing projects.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in SAP system implementation, support, or consulting for clients.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or other relevant project management methodologies.
