Job Title: SAP BASIS Consultant (2-4 Years Experience)
Location: Kochi
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented SAP BASIS Consultant with 2-4 years of hands-on experience. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the SAP landscape, performing system installations, upgrades, patches, monitoring, and providing technical support to ensure smooth SAP system operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily system monitoring, health checks, and performance tuning for SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, Fiori, etc.).
- Handle user administration, role/profile maintenance, and authorizations.
- Manage SAP kernel updates, patches, transport management, and database backups.
- Perform SAP installations, system copies, upgrades, and migrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SAP BASIS issues related to performance, system errors, and connectivity.
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams to ensure efficient SAP landscape operations.
- Apply OSS notes, manage system refresh activities, and handle client copy, export-import.
- Coordinate with SAP support for critical issues (raising OSS tickets and follow-up).
- Ensure high system availability and participate in on-call rotations if required.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience as an SAP BASIS Administrator.
- Experience with SAP installations, system copies, support package application, kernel upgrades, and enhancement pack upgrades.
- Strong knowledge of SAP Transport Management System (TMS) and troubleshooting transport-related issues.
- Solid understanding of SAP NetWeaver Architecture and components.
- Experience in client administration (create, copy, delete, export, import, and client transport).
- Experience with database administration (SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, MaxDB, or Sybase) related to SAP systems.
- Proficient in SAP system performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager for monitoring, EWA reports, and CHARM (Change Request Management).
- Understanding of SAP Security concepts — user, roles, and authorizations.
- Knowledge of operating system level commands and scripting (Linux shell scripting, PowerShell, or Windows Batch scripting) for automation of recurring BASIS tasks.
- Understanding of backup strategies (both database and file system) and recovery methods.
- Experience in SAP system refreshes (homogeneous/heterogeneous copies).
- Familiarity with High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and clustering concepts.
- Awareness of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) for SAP systems — e.g., EC2, S3, EBS snapshots, VPC.
- Understanding of SAP support tools: SAP Notes, Service Marketplace, SAP ONE Support Launchpad, etc.
- Good communication, documentation, and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
